Terms & conditions
The terms that apply when you book lessons with CleverTutors. Please read them before you buy.
Last updated: 11 October 2026
1. About us
CleverTutors is the trading name of Clever Tutors Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number ). You can contact us at .
In these terms, "we" and "us" means Clever Tutors Ltd. "You" means the parent or guardian who books lessons, and "your child" means the pupil taking the lessons.
2. Our services
We provide live online tuition for children in Years 3 to 6, in small groups of up to five pupils and one-to-one. Lessons last 60 minutes and take place on a private video link.
Groups run once at least three pupils have enrolled. If a group cannot start or has to close, we will offer you another group, one-to-one lessons or a refund for any lessons not yet taught.
3. Booking and payment
- Prices are shown on our website in pounds sterling and are payable in advance through our payment provider, Stripe.
- Single lessons are paid for when you book.
- Monthly plans are billed every month on the date you first subscribed and include four lessons per calendar month. Unused lessons do not roll over to the next month.
- Lesson packs are paid upfront and must be used within four months of purchase. Unused lessons expire after four months.
- A booking is confirmed when payment has been received and we have confirmed your child's session time.
4. Founding family offer
The first ten families to use the code FOUNDING receive 15% off monthly plans and lesson packs for 12 months from their first purchase. The offer cannot be used on single lessons, cannot be exchanged for cash and closes once ten families have used it.
5. Your right to cancel
If you live in the UK, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of your purchase. If you ask lessons to begin during those 14 days, we will refund what you paid minus the cost of any lessons already taught.
You can cancel a monthly plan at any time before your next billing date. You will not be charged again, and your child can attend the remaining lessons you have paid for.
Outside the 14-day period, lesson packs and single lessons are not refundable, but unused pack lessons can be transferred to a sibling.
6. Missed and rescheduled lessons
- Group lessons: if your child misses a group lesson, we will send the lesson materials and home task so they can catch up. Missed group lessons are not refunded.
- One-to-one lessons: these can be rescheduled if you give at least 24 hours' notice. Lessons cancelled with less notice, or missed, count as taught.
- If we cancel: if we need to cancel a lesson, we will offer a replacement lesson or a refund for that lesson.
- Technical problems: if a problem on our side stops a lesson going ahead, we will replace it. If a problem on your side does, the lesson counts as taught, but we will send the materials.
7. Safeguarding and conduct
- A parent or carer must be at home during every lesson.
- Lessons take place only on our private, password-protected links. Please do not share them.
- Lessons are not recorded without the written consent of every family in the session.
- We expect pupils to be kind and respectful. We may remove a pupil from a session if their behaviour affects others, after first discussing it with you.
- If we have a concern about a child's welfare, we will act in line with recognised UK safeguarding practice, which may include contacting the appropriate authorities.
8. Results
We work hard to help every child make progress, but we cannot guarantee exam results, scores or school places. Admission decisions rest with schools.
9. What your child needs
You are responsible for providing a suitable device with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection and a quiet space for lessons.
10. Our responsibility to you
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous three months. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.
11. Lesson materials
Our lesson materials are for your child's personal use only and must not be shared or sold.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please email . We aim to reply within five working days.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes do not affect lessons you have already paid for. We will tell you about important changes before your next payment.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
